Cindy Gilbert competed in the 1972 Olympics while still attending Oceanside High School in California. She was coached by her father, Al Gilbert, who played minor league baseball in the Detroit Tigers farm system. She later competed for UCLA and the LaJolla Track Club. In the high jump, Gilbert placed equal second at the 1971 AAU Junior, the 1974 AAU Outdoors, and the 1974 AAU Indoors.
Gilbert later appeared as a one of the track & field extras in the movie Personal Best. Her son, Scott Snow, became a distance runner who ran at UCLA.
Personal Bests: HJ – 6-0¾ [1.85] (1980); Pentathlon - 4,069 (1980).
