Sandy Knott ran the 400 and 800 for the Cleveland Recreation Club. She captured five AAU titles, indoors in the 1964 880 yards, and outdoors at 800 in 1963-64. Knott also won the 1964 US Olympic Trials in the 800. Knott later earned a nursing degree from the Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve, and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Washington and Gonzaga University, and worked as a nurse practitioner, specializing in the treatment of diabetes. In 2008 she was inducted into the Case Western Reserve Athletic Hall of Fame.
