Biography

Neomia Rodgers was a high jumper for Tuskegee Institute who won the 1957 AAU high jump championship. She also represented the US at the 1959 Pan-American Games, placing seventh in the high jump, also winning the AAU Junior title that year in the high jump. Rodgers won the 1960 US Olympic Trials. At the AAU Meet, she won the title in 1957, in a three-way tie, was second in 1960, tied for third in 1958, and was fifth in 1959.

Rodgers married Willie Foote, and they settled in Waterbury, Connecticut, where she worked for Uniroyal, Timex, and Lakewood Metals, and then the Waterbury Public School System. They raised four children in 47 years of marriage, before his death in 2011.
