Sherron Walker first competed for Everett High School in Washington State, and then for Cal State Long Beach, Seattle Pacific University, and the Nike Coast Track Club. She was AIAW Champion in the long jump in 1976. She competed for the US against the Soviet Union in a dual in 1976, and in 1979, ran a leg of the 4x100 relay at the World Cup. Walker earned her spot on the 1976 Olympic team by finishing second at the US Olympic Trials.
In later life, as Sherron Walker-Boyea, she discovered racquetball, and won age group national championships in doubles. She also became a teacher and did motivational speaking. Walker-Boyea was inducted into the Snohomish County (Washington) Sports Hall of Fame.
