Lee Bartlett was a javelin thrower for tiny Albion College. He was NCAA Champion in 1928 and AAU Champion in 1933, in addition to competing in three Olympic Games. Bartlett won the Olympic Trials in 1936, and also had three runner-up finishes at the AAU (1929-30, 1932). In addition to competing at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he coached the US throwers that year. His highest ranking on the yearly world lists was #5 in 1928.
Bartlett later became a teacher and coach in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1989 he was posthumously inducted into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame.
