John Brennan competed for Marquette. At the 1908 Central Olympic Trials Brennan won the triple jump and finished second in the long jump. He competed in both events at the London Olympics, finishing fifth in the long jump and eighth in the triple jump. Brennan was born in Ireland but came to the United States around 1900. He later worked as a police officer in Milwaukee.
