Reynaldo Brown was one of the last great American straddlers in the high jump. He competed in the 1968 Olympics while a student at Compton High School. Brown later competed for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and won the NCAA high jump in 1971 and 1973. He was AAU champion in 1970-71 and won the indoor AAU in 1971 as well. He competed well thru 1979, finishing third that year at the TAC Meet.
