Walter Drumheller ran for the University of Pennsylvania, but never placed at the IC4As. He graduated from Penn in 1902 with a dental degree but practiced dentistry for only a few years. He then entered the hotel business with his father. In World War I he served with the Army 28th Division. He was later elected as the first mayor of his hometown of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.
