Rayfield Dupree finished in the top six at the AAU meet in the triple jump four times, with a best of second in 1978. He competed for Cal State Long Beach and Middle Tennessee State University. He also represented the Presidio TC, Tobias Striders, Southern Cal Cheetahs, and the Maccabi TC. He was a triple jump champion at the Ohio Valley Conference indoor championships.
Dupree later became a track & field coach. In 1993 he attempted to start a professional track league, Team World Track, in Southern California. In 2005 Dupree pled guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct and was convicted on 13 counts of sexually molesting two 13-year-old girls that he had coached. He was sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.
