Biography
A distance runner, Vic Dyrgall won 11 AAU championships over distances from 15-30 km., and won the AAU marathon in 1949 and 1952. In both 1949 and 1952 he finished second at the Boston Marathon. Dyrgall ran cross-county at the University of Idaho. He qualified for the 1939 NCAA cross-country meet and finished seventh. Dyrgall led Idaho to Pacific Coast Conference cross-country titles in 1939-41 and 1946, and to the AAU team title in 1941.
From 1942-45 Dyrgall served in the Army Air Force. He retired from racing after the 1952 Olympics. Dyrgall was an accountant in his day job, working for many years in Schenectady, New York.
