Running for Cornell, Charles French was second in the 880y in the 1908 IC4As and third in 1907 and 1909. The 1908 IC4A Meet was one of the Olympic selection meets, which placed him on the Olympic team. French graduated in 1909, and was a member of the Sphinx Head Society, the oldest of Cornell’s senior honor societies. He later became a banker, working for the Seymour Trust Company in Seymour, Connecticut.
