Biography

Apart from his two medals in the discus events, Bill Horr placed sixth in the hammer, seventh in the shot, and competed in the tug-of-war at the 1908 Olympics. While at Syracuse University, Bill Horr won the IC4A hammer in 1906 and 1907, and later won the 1908 AAU discus title. He won two titles at the Penn Relays, winning the hammer in 1908 and the discus in 1909.

Horr also played football at Syracuse and in 1908 made All-America. the first football All-American for the Orangemen. He later attended Syracuse Law School and practiced as an attorney after a short period as assistant football coach at Syracuse.

Personal Bests: SP – 13.85 (1906); DT – 40.68 (1908); HT – 48.63 (1908).
