Daniel Horton competed for Princeton in the triple jump and standing triple jump at the 1900 Olympics. He missed the pole vault, his best event, refusing to compete because it was held on Sunday. The French organizers, to assuage the angry Americans, organized several other additional pole vault events during the 1900 Olympic track & field competition. Horton won one of these with 3.45 metres, but is not considered to have competed in the actual Olympic event. He was IC4A pole vault champion in 1902 and third in that event in 1903.
Personal Best: PV – 3.52 (11-6¾) (1902).
