Leonard Howe won the IC4A 220 yd hurdles in 1908-09 and was 120 yd hurdles champion in 1909. He placed fourth in the high hurdles at the 1908 IC4A, but won the Eastern Olympic Trials to make the 1908 US Olympic team. Howe competed for Yale University, graduating with a degree in engineering.
