Biography

Allen James was a race walker who competed at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. He was the son of an Air Force colonel and a Seattle running store owner – his mother owns the Super Jock ‘n’ Jill running store, one of his major sponsors.. James attended college at Western Washington University, graduating in 1987, and being named an NAIA All-American from 1983-86. His best year was 1993 when he won USA titles at 5 km indoors and 20 km and 30 km outdoors. James also won USA titles at 5 km indoors in 1995-96, and won four national titles at 20 km and three national titles at 50 km. He is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame at Western Washington University. James later worked for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation as Director of Marketing and Special Events at Niagara Falls State Park and the Niagara Region.

Personal Bests: 20kmW – 1-24:27t (1994); 50kmW – 3-55:39 (1994).
