Tom Laris was a distance runner who competed for Dartmouth and the New York AC. At the AAUs, he was second in the 1967 10K, and third in the 1972 10K and 1966 5K. He also won a bronze medal in 1967 in the Pan American Games 10K.
After graduating from Dartmouth, Laris earned an MBA degree from Stanford. He went into the financial world, eventually serving as President and CFO of E*Trade Securities from 1991-97, and later started his own trading company, Foothill Securities.
Personal Bests: Mile – 4:07.7 (1966); 2 miles – 8:34.6 (1972); Steeplechase – 9:06.2 (1964); 5K – 13:54.8 (1966); 10K – 28:12.6 (1972); Marathon – 2-16:48 (1967).
