Thomas Lilley finished fourth in the 1912 Boston Marathon, which was one of the Olympic qualifying events that year. He won several smaller marathons in the Boston area. Lilley was in the US Army with the 68th Artillery during World War I, serving in England and France. He worked as a laborer.
