Harvey Lord competed for the University of Chicago and later the Chicago AA. In addition to competing in the 400 and 800 at the 1900 Paris Olympics, Lord finished third in the non-Olympic 800 metre handicap race. Lord was named for his maternal grandfather. He became a mining engineer.
