Joseph Organ finished second in the 1920 New York Marathon, which qualified him for the Olympic Team. He competed for the Pittsburgh AA. Organ was considered a complete unknown when he made the Olympic team, but he finished seventh in Antwerpen, the best finish of any of the American runners. There is no record of him ever racing another marathon.
