Todd Riech was a javelin thrower who competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Reich competed at Cal State Fresno, graduating in 1994. In his senior year, he won both the NCAA title and the USA Outdoor championship, also winning the US title in 1996 when it doubled as the Olympic Trials. Riech won a bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games. He also finished third at the 2000 US Olympic Trials, but did not have an A qualifier so could not compete at Sydney.
Riech started out in college as a decathlete but a hip injury led him to focus on the javelin. He later became a fitness consultant. Riech was a member of the Native American Sports Council, representing the Flathead and Kootenai Tribe. He became a coach and personal trainer, and was the co-founder and co-owner of ProSport Performance.
