Frank Sheehan

Frank Sheehan finished third in the 880y at the 1907 AAUs, which were held as part of the Jamestown Exposition in Norfolk, Virginia. The day before, he had won the 1907 AAU Junior title in the half-mile, finishing in 1:56.4, which would be his personal best. He competed for the South Boston AC. Sheehan did not qualify outright for the 1908 US Olympic team, so paid his own way to compete in London, which was possible in that era. At the time he worked as a roofer, but later joined the Boston school system, eventually serving as deputy superintendent of the Boston school buildings. He had a long affiliation with the Boston Athletic Association, working as a track official.
