Biography

Ken Swenson won the 880y in 1970 at both the NCAA and AAU Meets. He was world ranked #2 in the 800 for the year. In 1971 Swenson also won a gold medal in the 800 at the Pan American Games. He competed for Kansas State and later for the US Army. After the 1972 Olympics, Swenson competed for a few more years and then turned professional in March 1975 with the International Track Association. In 2009 he was inducted into the Kansas State Hall of Fame.

Personal Bests: 800 – 1:44.80 (1970); Mile – 3:59.1 (1975).
