Walter Wood won the 1936 IC4A discus throw and placed third that year in the Olympic Trials. Wood finished 13th at the Olympics. At a meet in Praha (Prague) after the Olympics, Wood recorded his lifetime PR of 49.35. He competed for Cornell and the Newark AC.
