Lee Yoder was third at the 1952 AAU Meet in the 400H and placed second that year in the Olympic Trials (and NCAA) to make the Olympic Team. After graduating from Mercersburg Academy in 1950, Yoder attended the University of Arkansas, majoring in industrial arts, and then obtained a masters degree in that field from the University of Pennsylvania.
Yoder had the unusual distinction of also playing on the US hockey (field) team at the 1967 Pan American Games and later became a coach and administrator in that sport. Yoder served as manager of the 1984 US hockey (field) team.
