William Yount placed second in the 1920 AAU high hurdles and third in that event in 1921. He also finished fourth in the AAU long jump in 1921. He graduated from Redlands College in 1921 and later competed for the Los Angeles AC. Yount later coached at Redlands College and also helped run the automotive firm of Loge and Yount.
