After finishing second in the 100 y and third in the 220 y at the 1903 IC4A Meet, Harvard’s William Schick won the sprint double at the IC4As in both 1904 and 1905. In 1902 he equaled the world 100 y record of 9 4/5 and at the Penn Relays led-off the Harvard 4x440 y relay team that broke the world record. Schick also won the 100/220 yd races for the Harvard-Yale team that defeated Oxbridge.
Prior to attending Harvard, Schick prepped at Philips Andover Academy. He trained as an accountant and later worked in that profession for Clinton M. Scovell Co., which later became Scovell, Wellington & Co., where he was made a manager of the Boston office before retiring in 1931.
