Biography

Austrian wrestler Karl Höltl was fourth at the 1904 World Championships in the unlimited Greco-Roman style. He then participated in the 1906 Intercalated Athens Games and was eliminated in the middleweight class in the first round.

Höltl was also a member of the Austrian tug-of-war team that finished fourth and last after defeats by Germany (2-0) and Sweden (2-0). The same year he won the Middle European Championships. In 1896, Höltl founded a company working with natural stones and constructing houses, driveways, and gardens.
