One of the only bits of biographical information known about this Greek long-distance runner is that he was listed in the 1904 Official Program as “Harry Jenakas,” although Greek sources use the name Charilaos Giannakas. Giannakas ran in the marathon at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics but did not finish the course. The race was infamous for taking place on dusty roads in extreme heat and that the initial winner Fred Lorz was disqualified after taking a ride in an automobile.
