Károly Rémi started his sports career as a swimmer with MUE, and was a member of MUE’s newly formed water polo team. Starting in 1910, he played for FTC’s water polo team with which he became double Hungarian champion (1912-13). As a member of the Hungarian national team, he competed at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. Rémi was injured on the South front during World War I and died in Budapest. After his death, the Károly Rémi Prize was founded.
