Ute Dix was an East German speed skater who competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics at Innsbruck. She was way off the medals, with a 20th place finish in the 500 metres and 21st in the 1,000. That same year Dix won the 1,000 metres East German national title. Her only other national title was in 1973 when she won the all-round title.
After raising three children, Dix returned to international senior competition in the 1990s under her married name Zillmann. By profession, she became a family physician.
Personal Bests: 500 – 43.7 (1976); 1000 – 1:26.40 (1976); 1500 – 2:15.18 (1977); 3000 – 4:48.92 (2007); 5000 – 8:40.4 (1976).
