At age 20, Ingrid Gulbrandsen was selected to compete in figure skating at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. She finished in sixth and last place behind her fellow compatriot Margot Moe, in spite of placing second in the free skating element, but she had performed poorly in the compulsory figures. She won her only national title in 1924, but was not selected for the Chamonix Winter Games, as 11-year-old Sonja Henie made her first of four Olympic appearances. Gulbrandsen died in her hometown of Oslo in 1975 at age 76.
