Dagmur Lurz’s greatest year was 1980 when she won her Olympic bronze medal, and was runner-up at the European and World Championships. She was at her best in the compulsory figures, but was less successful in free skating. At the 1976 Innsbruck Winter Games she finished tenth. Lurz was German Champion from 1977-80.
After her active career she studied medicine at the University of Köln (Cologne), later serving the German skating team as a doctor, and she has served as an international figure skating official. Lurz had the following placements at major internationals – Worlds: 1975 – 17th; 1976 – 9th; 1977 – 3rd; 1978 – 4th; 1979 – 4th; and 1980 – 2nd. Europeans – 1975 – 8th; 1976 – 6th; and 1977-1980 – 2nd.
