Audrey Peppe never won a US National title but was second in 1938 and 1939 and placed third in 1936, which qualified her for the Olympic team. A niece of Beatrix Loughran, she turned professional in 1939 and travelled to Europe to train with Sonja Henie’s instructor. Peppe was known for her free skating ability. She later married David Benner although they eventually divorced.
