West German singles figure skater Karin Riediger placed 13th at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. From 1978-81 she was also a participant of the Europeans and the Worlds, but never made a podium, finishing eighth at the 1981 Europeans as her best international result. The same year Riediger won her only West German title. She later coached figure skaters, among them her daughter Isabel Heintges.
