Eileen Seigh had a short career at high-level American figure skating. In 1947 she placed third at the US Championships and fourth at the World Championships, prior to her 11th place finish at the 1948 Winter Olympics. She then retired from competition and skated professionally on Broadway in ice shows. Seigh later taught skating at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, and one of her pupils in early 1952 was Pete Honnen. They fell in love and were married in December 1952. Pete Honnen later ran a heavy equipment company, Honnen Equipment, which was a pioneer in the Colorado construction industry and was the regional distributor for John Deere and Grove Cranes.
