During the late 1960s and early 1970s Galina Sidorova was one of the best Alpine skiers in the Soviet Union. Sidorova won national titles in downhill skiing in 1967 and 1969, and in the giant slalom in 1967. She also won five national championships in mountain triathlon from 1967 to 1971. Sidorova represented the Soviet Union at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics and the 1968 Grenoble Olympics. Her best results came in the slalom, finishing in 20th place in 1964, and in 26th place in 1968. After her skiing career Sidorova became a successful coach.
