Giancarlo Agazzi was one of the all-time great Italian ice hockey players. He played for many Milano teams; Amatori Milano, Hockey Club Milano (later merged with F.C. Internazionale) and Diavoli H.C. Milano. He also spent one year with H.C. Torino. Agazzi won six First League titles: 1951-52, 1954-55 and 1958 with Milano and 1960 with Diavoli HC Milano. He won the Spengler Cup at Davos with Milano Inter in 1953 and 1954.
Agazi made his début with the national team in 1950 and went on to win 120 caps. He participated at two Winter Olympic Games, finishing seventh at Cortina in 1956 and 15th at Innsbruck in 1964. For both club and country, he often played alongside Giampiero Branduardi and Tino Crotti forming a forward line known as A-B-C.
After his active career, Agazzi became a coach and manager. In 2014, Hockey Milano Rossoblu honoured him by retiring his number 10 jersey.
