Mike Aljoe played football at Lewisville High School in Texas, and then at the University of Oklahoma. Aljoe was a defensive end and played on special teams for the Sooners. He played on three Big 8 Champions and one National Champion in the 1984-85 season. Aljoe was recruited to bobsled for his athletic ability and his push times and had the best push time among all US bobsledders in the 1988 Winter Olympic trials.
