Robert Bednar finished 13th and last with the four men Austria II bob crew at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Winter Olympics. The team was made up of Bednar, his brother Franz, Viktor Wigelbeyer and Johann Baptist von Gudenus. Robert and his brother also participated in the 1938 Luge European Championships with an 18th place in the men’s singles for Robert.
