Aleksandr Belyakov and Yevgeny Belousov were the most successful Soviet doubles lugers. They won silvers at the 1984 Olympics and were European champions in 1986. They also won bronzes at the 1988 European Championships in doubles and at the 1989 World Championships in the mixed team event. Belyakov and Belousov also won the World Cup in doubles in 1987-88.
