Biography

Krzysztof Birula-Białynicki was a high-scoring center in Polish ice hockey, being capped 119 times for his country. He played most of his club career with LKS Lodz in the Polish leagues, skating for that team from 1961-75, and twice leading the league in scoring. Birula-Białynicki finished his career with four years in Italian leagues, playing for SG Cortina (1975-77), HC Diavalo (1977-78), and finally with SG Brunico (1978-79). He led the Italian League in goal scoring in 1975-76. In addition to his 1972 Winter Olympic appearance, Birula-Białynicki played in seven World Championships, three times in the A Tournament – 1966, 1970, and 1973.
