Biography

Brehme became German Champion 1929 and 1934 with Fritz Grau in the two-man bob, 1929 in the four-man bob, third at the World Championships 1930 in the four-man and 1933 in the two-man bob. Brehme fell 1932 together with Fritz Grau in Lake Placid training for the Olympic Games down 20 metres deep and was hurt severly and could not start at the Olympics. Even the Mayor of New York Jimmy Walker visited him in the hospital. Four years later he claimed the sixth place in the two man with Grau.
