Forward Christian Brittig was a member of the West German ice hockey team that placed fifth at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. In total, he earned 171 international caps, scoring 75 goals. Domestically, he played with EV Landshut (Bundesliga until 1992), EC Kassel, EHC Essen-West, Mad Dogs München, Augsburger EV, Preußen Devils Berlin (later renamed Berlin Capitals), GEC Nordhorn, again EV Landshut (all in the second league), and finally Düsseldorfer EG Metro Stars (2003-05).
Brittig turned to coaching after his active career and coached several second and first league teams, including Kassel Huskies and Düsseldorfer EG.
