Hans Bänninger’s played in goal for Switzerland at the 1948 and 1952 Winter Olympics, appearing in four games in 1948 and eight games in 1952. He played club hockey for Zürcher SC, winning a Swiss title with them in 1948 and the Spengler Cup in 1944 and 1945. Bänninger won three bronze medals at the World Championships in 1950, 1951, and 1953, and won five medals at the European Championships – gold in 1950, silver in 1951, and bronzes in 1949, 1952, and 1953.
