Biography

A Minnesota Gopher hockey star of the early 50s, Gene Campbell earned his college degree in business administration. Following a stint in the Army, he played for the Twin City Fords and the Rochester Mustangs during his club career. After retiring from hockey, Campbell turned to coaching. He was the boys hockey coach at Lourdes for 14 years. Campbell later was the founding coach for the Rochester Raiders adapted floor hockey. He later became a health administrator at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and coached children’s hockey teams in Rochester, including some for kids with disabilities.
