Thomas Cijan was an Austrian ice hockey forward who participated in the 1984 Sarajevo and 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. On both occasions, the Austrian team was eliminated in the group stage. In 1987, 1990, and 1991 Cijan also participated in the World Championships. In total, he won 67 international caps scoring 34 goals and 38 assists.
Domestically, Cijan played with Klagenfurter AC until 1992 and then from 1995-97, and captained the team for almost a decade. He won nine Austrian Championships with them (1976-77, 1979-80, 1985-88 and 1991). From 1992-93 he played with Zell am See EK and from 1993-95 with EC Graz. His son Alexander also became an ice hockey international. Cijan later ran an agency for ice hockey players.
