Howard Clifton was a bobsled driver whose biggest achievement was winning a bronze medal in the 1967 World Championships in two-man. In 1966, Clifton also won the North American title and the International Diamond Trophy. Clifton went to Lansingburg High School in New York, where he competed in soccer and track. He later attended Siena College but competed for the Hurricane Bobsled Club. During his bobsled career, Clifton worked in business, as a supervisor at Behr-Manning in Watervliet, New York, which was a leader in belt sanders, sandpaper, and abrasives.
