Biography

Zoltan Czaka was a relatively small defenseman who played for Romania at the 1964 and 1968 Winter Olympics. He began his career with the local club in Miercurea Ciuc, IPEIL, winning national titles with them in 1949 and 1951. In 1951 he moved to Steaua Bucaresti, the Army club, and eventually won 10 national titles with Steaua. Czaka was capped 158 times for Romania. He retired after the 1968 Olympics and became the coach of Steaua. In 1972 he was named an Honoured Master of Sports in Romania. Czaka returned to Miercurea Ciuc in 1984 and coached the local club there.
