Biography

Alberto Da Rin was an Italian ice hockey player who spent his career with SG Cortina where he won 14 league titles between 1957 and 1975. His older brother Gianfranco also played for Cortina during this time and the pair enjoyed great success. Alberto was also a mainstay on the Italian national team for more than two decades, playing at 11 World Championships and the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics. He initially retired from the sport in 1979 but made a brief comeback in 1985 when he was 46-years-old, after previously coaching the Italian team at the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. Da Rin later managed the Hotel Italia in Cortina d’Ampezzo, previously owned by his father.
