Biography

As part of the Pontavice family, Bertrand du Pontavice de Heussey held the nobility title of viscount. Bertrand had a lengthy military background and fought in World War I, which saw him decorated with the Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honor. Bertrand was a horse breeder by trade but he also dabbled in winter sports, including the bobsleigh. He was part of the five-man team in the second French sled at the 1928 St. Moritz Olympics. They finished 19th on the first run and 10th on the second run to finish 15th overall.
